A Mild Live Wanted: “Give New Band A Chance”

 

Buat Amilders yang ngikutin perkembangan musik tanah air, pasti tau dong sama band d”Masiv? Yup, d”Masiv adalah pemenang pertama ajang A Mild Live Wanted 2007 kemarin. Sesuai janji dari pihak A Mild, d”Masiv langsung masuk dapur rekaman untuk merampungkan album pertamanya di bawah naungan Musica Studio”s.

Nah, tahun 2008 ini, Amild kembali menggelar acara A Mild Live Wanted, yang tujuannya memberikan kesempatan buat band-band baru untuk mewujudkan mimpinya merilis album sendiri. A Mild Live Wanted sendiri merupakan sebuah program yang merefleksikan semangat, “Bukan Basa Basi” yang diusung A Mild, yang tertuang dalam bentuk nyata berupa kesempatan, penghargaan dan pengukuhan band-band baru yang memiliki harapan untuk dapat berkiprah dalam industri musik Indonesia.

Seperti pagelaran tahun lalu, kali ini A Mild juga merangkul perusahaan rekaman lokal yang berkompeten, untuk menjadi wadah inspirasi band yang nantinya menjadi pemenang A Mild Live Wanted ini. Untuk tahun ini, Musica Studio”s dan Trinity Optima diberi kepercayaan oleh A Mild, untuk bisa merealisasikan impian band-band peserta A Mild Live Wanted untuk memiliki album rekaman.

Kualitas band yang lolos A Mild Live Wanted juga ngga perlu diragukan lagi, karena para band harus melewati proses penjurian yang ketat dan panjang. Di jajaran juri, nama-nama besar di dunia musik tanah air seperti Khrisna “Suckerhead”, Indra K. Thamrin (Rolling Stone), Anton Wahyudi (Prambors), Harry “Koko” Santoso (Deteksi), Indrawati Widjaja (Musica), Anasthasia Sadrach (A&R Musica), Yonathan Nugroho (Managing Director Trinity Optima) dan Yanto Sutardji (Trinity Optima), siap menilai kelayakan dari band-band yang telah mengirim demo untuk kemudian di seleksi dan memilih the best of the best.

Missed out Ungu’s last performance in October 2007? Well now is your chance to reimburse your self…! With teir latest radio chart topper “Cinta Dalam Hati” taken from their last album “Untukmu Selamanya”, Ungu’s song have become some of the most highly requested ring tones for almost every cell phone provider. [ring-ring] After ten years in Indinesian music industry, this pop out hailing from Bandung is still holding onto its position as one of the most successful bands in the country.  So far Ungu have released four triumphant albums and two mini albums characterized by the public. Their songs are basically inspired by the ususal problems that normal young men face, with song variations from the common love theme to religious themes. Their music, a mixture of acoustic and archestral, is often used Indonesian films and television dramas.  Maintaining the drama after Ungu will be the renowed DJ Riri Mestica, who was the only DJ to represent Indonesia at the ‘Zoukout Dance Festival 2003’ in Singapore. Riri has spun in Europe, Malaysia, and Singapore as well as spinning all over Indonesia. His latest releases entitled “STREOMESTICA”, won “Best Album”” at the REMA awards 2007, while his anthem “Rusty Guitar” was a hit on dancefloors all over the archipelago.  So don’t miss the party, check out this double whammy on Wednesday, February 27th at Kamasutra from 11pm.

The story of this stand-out-seminal band begins back in the 1995, when five students of the Institute Kesenian Jakarta ; Jarwo,Emil, Candra, Emil and Pepeng would have sleepovers to do their home work but ended up throwing impromptu jam session…musical collaborations that formed the embryo of NAIF band. Fast forward to 1998 and the quintet were making their self titled debut album which on its release catapulted them straight into the limelight with the smash hit “Mobil Balap” [Race Car]. Their style evolved both musically and aesthetically to portray a vintage sixties vibe-a retro approach taht is being picked up by number of Jakarta bands at the moment-White Shoes & The Couples Company for example. Their six album discograpy includes last years “Televisi”, which saw Naif once again musical boundaries-the single “Ajojing” [Dance…kind of] saw the employing a sort of Bee Gees style falsetto againts a classic disco backdrop. Not only are they great musicians, but also talented entertainers, especially David [vocals] who always throws in some jokes and crowd interaction. Their last gig on the Island was july 2007 and it was a blast! Expect some wide old aviator sunglass, bell bottom jeans, floral print long sleeve shirts and huge belt buckles. NAIF is in the house.
